First Autumn snow and mulled wine

This morning we woke up to the first proper snowfall of the Autumn on the peaks above Arthurs Pass village.  Renée  walked up to Temple Basin to touch the snow.  The view outside inspired  Geoff to try making some mulled wine, warming it on the wood burner that heats our lounge.  It seems to be a success as Geoff and one of our guests are looking very relaxed.  Mulled wine, the smell of warm spices and a cosy house – the essence of the good life as winter approaches.
